King Charless III and Queen Camilla are in Kenya for a 4-day state visit
The royalty landed in the country a few minutes to 10pm on Monday, October 31 They were recieved by Prime Cabinet Secretary and CS for Foreign Affairs Musalia Mudavadi. They are expected to visit Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi before flying to Mombasa county 2:00 PM Anxiety! KDF soldier trips at State House Nairobi During King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s visit A female soldier attached to the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) caused a scene after falling in front of President William Ruto and other envoys accompanying King Charles III and Queen Camilla to Kenya.
Presumably out of anxiety, the soldier tumbled just behind the president who turned to witness the pandemonium behind him. The lady soldier was however too quick to pick up her beret before leaving to join her colleagues at the periphery. Watch: (Video; Courtesy) 12:09 PM Flights at Wilson Airport Suspended His Majesty King Charles and Queen Camilla arrived at the historic Uhuru Gardens at exactly 12:00 noon. They arrived a few minutes after President William Ruto and First Lady Racheal Ruto made their was to the iconic and commemorative park. All flights at the nearby Wilson Airport have been suspended until further notice.
The decision was taken for security reasons. 11:47 AM Tight security as King Charles Leaves State House for Uhuru Gardens After spending less than an hour at State House, His Majesty King Charles and Queen Camilla left for Uhuru Gardens along Langata Road. The royalty’s convoy was escorted by a fleet of high-end cars, carrying some elite security personnel and senior government officials. Uhuru Gardens is significant in tracing the history of Kenya’s struggle to independence.
It is on this ground where Kenya’s founding Father Mzee Jomo Kenyatta was handed the instruments of power by the British government to become the prime minister after Kenya attain self-rule in 1963. 10:56 AM King Charles III and Queen Camilla arrive at State House President William Ruto has received King Charles III and Queen Camilla at the Nairobi State House. The King and queen were welcome by a 21 gun salute in a colourful reception befitting the stature of a majesty.
The royalty inspected a guard of honour before being introduced to a host of Kenyan leaders who were present. The King and Queen later planted trees before being ushered into the state house by the president.
